Privacy policy

In short: this website sets no cookies at all and requires no sign-up. The calculations run locally in your browser and never leave your device. Visits are measured with Google Analytics 4, running cookieless — described below. The final privacy policy will be published before the official launch.

What data is processed

Using the calculator requires no sign-up, and we neither collect nor store details that identify you — not your name, your IRD number, your email address, or the amounts you enter. All calculations happen locally in your browser; your entries are not sent to a server.

Legal basis

For visitors in New Zealand, processing is governed by the Privacy Act 2020, overseen by the Office of the Privacy Commissioner. Technically necessary operations — running the website — rely on the legitimate interest in a functioning, secure service. As with any website, the hosting provider may temporarily process technical connection data (such as a shortened IP address) in server logs for secure operation.

Visit measurement

Visits are measured with Google Analytics 4, a service provided by Google. Google Consent Mode v2 holds every storage signal at "denied" the same way for every visitor, in every country — including New Zealand — and this site carries no consent message that could lift that default, so the tag runs cookieless, permanently. Google receives the page address, where the visit came from, the IP address (from which it derives an approximate location) and general device and browser characteristics, with no cookie and no identifier that recognises you across visits. That data may be processed outside New Zealand.

Cookies

The website sets no cookies. There is no advertising. If cookies are ever used, they will be named — and how consent is given, managed or withdrawn explained — on the cookie policy page.
